The Pont Neuf was created between the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century, during the reign of Henri IV. In that time it was very modern architecture and was the first Parisian sidewalk through the Seine. As a symbol of Paris, it was immortalized by famous painters: Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro or Albert Lebourg. More contemporary the Pont Neuf was wrapped by Christo and Jeanne-Claude.
