Jaume Plensa. Galerie Lelong
Jaume Plensa (born 1955, Barcelona) is a major figure in contemporary sculpture. His works often explore the human figure, portraiture, language, materials, inner life, memory, and public space.
At the Gallery Lelong in Paris, you can see a mix of intimate works (paper, small sculptures) and larger pieces or themes that resonate with his public-sculpture practice. Themes to look out for are silence, inner reflection, materiality vs immateriality, human face/figure, language and letters, dream/desire.
Jaume Plensa sculptures are installed worldwide: the piece Crown Fountain in Millennium Park, Chicago, and others in London, Madrid, Taipei, etc.
Galerie Lelong – Paris & New York – has represented Jaume Plensa for many years; his works are regularly shown at the gallery.
