Giacometti Institute Paris
The most richly diverse collection of Alberto Giacometti’s works in the world, including 350 sculptures, 90 paintings and over 2000 drawings. Giacometti Institute has also remarkable archive and photography collection, along with library on modern art. It is at once an exhibition space, a key reference venue for the work of Giacometti and an art history research center dedicated to modern artistic practices.
Inside, you can be surprised by exceptional reconstruction of the real studio of Alberto Giacometti with some fragile artworks never shown to the public. One more recommendation is the location itself – the Montparnasse, neighborhood where Giacometti lived and worked. The venue, it’s a heritage, private mansion in art deco style, whose decors have been preserved and restored by Pierre Antoine Gatier. Be sure to make a reservation before your visit, the number of places is limited.
