Hassan Hajjaj

Hassan Hajjaj is showcasing a captivating solo exhibition titled “Legs” at the 193 Gallery in Le Marais, Paris.

The exhibition shifts focus from traditional portraits to an expressive subject—the human legs and feet. The images are styled with mismatched textiles, patterned socks, and colorful footwear that evoke movement, migration, and cultural storytelling.

True to Hassan Hajjaj’s unique aesthetic, each piece is framed using recycled materials – bright plastic mats and hand‑painted, repurposed tires – underscoring themes of resilience, hybridity, and upcycling.

The artist reflects: “In the olden days, people walked everywhere… your grandparents… it took them three months walking.” With Legs, he honors stories of physical journeys and draws connections to the modern global nomad experience.
