The MEP inaugurates its “STUDIO” with the young Korean artist Yoonkyung Jang, winner of the Dior Prize for Photography for Young Talents 2018.
Presented in the “Glimpse of us” series, awarded by the Dior jury, is exclusively composed of portraits of women and offers a very personal and allegorical vision of femininity and beauty. Color and light give to her photographs a deep.
Beyond this poetic work, Yoonkyung Jang captures the questions and doubts of her generation, connected but isolated, fragmented and sometimes lost in the face of globalization.
This is what the artist illustrates in a more personal work: “Strange Seoul Rave”, new series presented exclusively in the same exhibition. These portraits of friends or strangers in the street portray a Korean youth ready to reinvent their values.
