“Being Modern: MoMA in Paris"
A selection of 200 works tracing the MoMA’s history in Fondation Louis Vuitton Paris. The works were drawn from all six of the MoMA’s curatorial departments, reflecting the history of the institution and the choices it made in building its collection.
Organised jointly by the two institutions, the exhibition brought together works selected by the director and curator of the MoMA from paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photography, film, media art, performance art, architecture to design, which by their diversity, illustrate the multiple facets of the museum’s collections.
The exhibition was conceived in relation with the architecture and spaces of the building of the Fondation, offering a compelling historical narrative across its four floors.
