Bourse de Commerce Paris. Corps et âmes

The exhibition – Corps et âmes – at the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection in Paris is an immersive exploration of the representation of the human body in contemporary art.

The exhibition until 25 August 2025, it brings together more than 100 works by 41 artists from the Pinault family’s private collection. The exhibition highlights the diversity of artistic expression, from painting and sculpture to photography, video and drawing.

“Corps et âmes” explores the connection between the body and the mind, addressing topics such as violence, transcendence, struggles for civil rights, feminism, and anti-militarism. The artists featured include:

Arthur Jafa: his video Love is the Message, the Message is Death (2016), screened in the Rotonde, explores the African-American experience with striking visual intensity.

Ana Mendieta: her photographs and videos, produced in the 1970s, fuse the body and nature, questioning notions of identity and belonging.

Georg Baselitz: his inverted paintings deconstruct the human body, offering a reflection on memory and history.

Duane Hanson: his hyper-realistic sculptures capture moments of everyday life, questioning the human condition.

Ali Cherri: his installations combine archaeological objects and contemporary creations, evoking memory and resilience.
