Installation “Constancy in Volatility” installed inside Wolskie Rotundy in Warsaw, 52 m in diameter and 52 m high, consists of transparent plastic sleeves filled with air. The sleeves were mounted on specially created structures. The installation, although monumental, due to the airiness of the material used is extremely fleeting and delicate, changing depending on the time of day, sunlight or wind.
Danuta Karsten was born in 1963 in Mała Słońce (near Gdańsk). Today she lives and works in the Ruhr region. The presented installation is her doctoral dissertation. The doctoral dissertation was opened at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2019.
