Marche et démarche. Une histoire de la chaussure. MAD Paris
Marche et démarche. Une histoire de la chaussure questions the cultural significance of the shoe, an essential accessory in our daily lives, and explores how the shoe was incorporated into different styles of walking, from the Middle Ages to the present day, in both Western and non-European cultures. The exhibition – curated by Dennis Bruna and designed by architect and designer Eric Benqué – displays approximately five hundred items, including shoes, paintings, objets d’art, photographs, films and ads from public and private collections, offering a unique perspective on how an everyday object can translate from the ordinary to the extraordinary. At MAD Paris.
Marche et démarche takes a fresh look, full of surprises, on this common yet mysterious object.
