Nendo design studio brings sunshine and shower to Paris
The Nendo design studio and its founder Japanese artist Oki Sato are bringing sunshine and showers to le Bon Marché in Paris. Here you can contemplate the poetry of two natural phenomena: rain and the blossoming of flowers. For the ame nochi hana exhibition, the latest to take over Le Bon Marché, Nendo focuses on these manifestations of life in installations on various floors of the store under the glass roof and in window displays, appearing like naturalist reveries. Oki Sato has orchestrated four dreamlike propositions around rain water and blossom. Each one explores the connection and interrelation between these two universal elements. The “rain flowers” he designed are full of life and joy as the common thread in the ame nochi hana exhibition, bringing reinvented nature into Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche.
The “ame nochi hana” exhibition reinforces the commitment of Le Bon Marché to the contemporary art scene. These new Nendo artworks follow Er Xi by Ai Weiwei (2016), Where are we Going? by Chiharu Shiota (2017), Sous le Ciel by Leandro Erlich (2018) and Branco Luz by Joana Vasconcelos (2019).
