Gangao Lang portraiture with digital tools

Gangao Lang – Chinese photographer , winner of the 2019 Dior Prize for Photography for Young Talents: a work on portraiture with digital tools.

Her portrait series – presented at MEP Paris – comprises photographs of her friend Li Wanyue, whose face’s lines and volumes were digitally reworked with the addition of geometric figures. Through her poetic research on light, color and composition, she has drawn an intimate portrait of her model, highlighting the intensity of her emotions.

Gangao Lang born in 1998 in the province of Henan in China, is a student at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts. Last year she participated in the OCEAN collective exhibition at the Slime Engine Contemporary Art Space in Shanghai.
