Friend of a Friend” (FOAF) project sees nine important and thriving Warsaw contemporary art galleries (BWA Warszawa, Foksal Gallery Foundat ion, LETO, Piktogram, Pola Magnetyczne, Dawid Radziszewski, Raster, Stereo, Wschód) sharing their exhibition spaces with international guests. A dialogue with galleries from Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States, lies at the foundation of group shows featuring Polish and international artists.
The idea of “FOAF” is based on the principle of friendly collaboration and not competition, which is often associated with the art market. The event not only succeeds in establishing an innovative platform to present contemporary art, but also an exchange model that is complementary to the one provided by art fairs.
One of the aims of the project is to create a different model for the presentation of contemporary art, to establish new networks within the Polish art scene and to enable local audiences to interact with the works of international artists, whose works were often not exhibited in Poland so far.
the exhibitions run until April 27
