The festival Solidays is not a festival like the others. Built on values of sharing and mutual aid, it nourishes the spirits, awakens the consciences and brings people closer together. Solidays is a unique place of circulation of ideas. Year after year, it allows you to cultivate the best in everyone.
Young people (212,000 in 2018), activists and artists come here to satisfy their “quest for meaning” and share the pleasure of “being useful”, the pleasure of “being together”. Each year, in addition to exceptional musical events, the festival offers highlights, conferences and exchange time around major issues of society and current events. Not to mention the meeting with the 100 French and international associations of the Village Solidarité who act daily on topics as varied as human rights, health, poverty, environment, disability or exclusion.
Solidays is also a powerful tool against AIDS and human distress. Thanks to its success, many programs for patient support and prevention for young people have been funded here and elsewhere.
More than 3 million festival-goers have already walked Longchamp since this day of 1999 when Robbie Williams, Youssou N’Dour or Jean-Jacques Goldman inaugurated the main stage of the festival. 20 years later, Solidays is more than ever “of public interest”. He strongly demonstrates how young people are intimately convinced that the happiness, the progress, the meaning that each wants to give to his existence, can not arise from individualism, withdrawal or indifference towards of the world. This is not the most innocuous of successes.
